Book Choi...

The ABC network in Australia is always good at producing fine pieces of televisional delight, and the past 12 months have been no exception. Not only have we had Summer Heights High grace our screens (albeit via DVD to me here in Dubai) with the honorable Greg "Helen" Gregson, Ja'mie, and Jonah, but most recently the audial-visual golden extravaganza The Librarians, the funniest show from DownUnder since the revolution.

Frances O'Brien the 'devoutly Catholic and panic disorder sufferer' Head Librarian is the overtly Politically Correct lead character in some aspects, and the most crass and cringe-worthy racist in others. With other characters like Nada the Muslim Community Liason Officer and her gaggle of 'extremist friends', and Dawn the paraplegic 2IC, who cant quite reach the top shelf from her wheelchair, this series is an unlikely laugh-fest, looking at what exactly gets sent down the Returns Chute...

Backpacks at the front counter please... I think we all know why! I don't make the rules...

When you next have access to Australia, grab a copy of the DVD, its only 6 episodes, 6 episodes too few, mind. Its addictive viewing at its best... hold on to your hats, library users, its only 2 weeks til Book Week! Nada... NADA...
